Beginners – Start Time 10:20am &11:00am
I’m not serious about competing but enjoy a challenge. Obstacle races are new to me but seem like something I’d enjoy. I work out on a regular basis but I’m not as serious as some of the people in the gym. I’ve taken boot camp classes.
Beginners do the same course as everyone else accept the distances and the repetitions are shorter i.e. 30 pushups versus 50, pull chains 40yds. versus 60yds. If you can’t do an obstacle you just go to the next one. If you need to do pushups on your knees then do them on your knees.
This is a great category for those that are new to obstacle course racing and fitness. Are you up for the challenge?
What Newbies are saying
“I want to thank you all for a wonderful event. It was very well organized in most areas. I appreciated that is allowed for people to work at individual skill levels and provided one hell of a butt-kicking workout. I will bring an entire group with me next year if you all see fit to hold the event in Virginia Beach again. “
“That was a good time! I’d definitely do it again! “
“Had a great time at the Charlotte Fitathlon. So proud that my husband’s 6 months of training paid off! “
“Definitely one of the hardest things I have done in a long time! So glad I did it. Tried every obstacle even if perhaps not successfully but now I am determined to do better next time.”
